Does the Money Buy the Week?
Compare one career with the life you want. Your work saves as you go. Only the reflection you submit in Canvas is graded.
How this works (tap to open or close)
- Pick a career. Finish Run the Numbers in Canvas first. Then choose one career here and say why.
- Enter your week. Copy your ten years out hours from My Definition of Success. Total: 168. Add the career's hours, commute, shift, and source.
- Compare. Read the bars and the tool's comments about time and money. Decide what you agree with and why.
- Write and submit. Answer all three reflection questions. Press Build my reflection, then Copy. Paste into Canvas and submit.
Stay on the Canvas page. Work saved in a separate tab won't appear here.
The career you're leaning toward
Choose one career to test. You can switch later. This isn't a final career decision.
The week you want, and the week the career asks for
Open your My Definition of Success submission. Copy the ten years out hours into the closest matching rows. If that column's blank, estimate the week you'd want.
Do this: enter all seven rows, including zeros. The total must be 168. Then add the career's work week below and name your source.

Where the week and the money fight
Compare the top bar (your wanted week) with the bottom bar (the career's week). Read the comments below. Choose at least two to discuss in your reflection. There's nothing to enter on this step.
Your reflection
Write one paragraph (at least 80 characters) for each question. Use your numbers. In your answers, discuss at least two comments from Where they fight. Say whether you agree with each and why. There's no required career choice.
Build it, copy it, turn it in
Finish the checklist below. Build puts your numbers and all three answers into one text block.
Do this, in order: 1. Press Build my reflection. 2. Read it once. 3. Press Copy. 4. Paste into the Lifestyle Fit Reflection box under this tool in Canvas and press Submit. Then check Grades for a dash.
Need a clean slate? This erases this tool's answers in your account.
Moving my work another way (a code instead of a file)
To save a code, press Export my work and copy the whole code. To bring it back, paste it here and press Restore. Restoring replaces the saved work for all course tools.
Before you close this page, download a progress file or copy your export code.
